Jim Ebanks has been a California real estate licensee since 1985. Jim joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1989 as a specialist in the Industrial Technology Group. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he specialized in investment property sales for a brokerage firm based in West Los Angeles.
As a specialist in industrial and technology properties, Jim has brokered leases and sales of warehouses, distribution centers, R&D properties and manufacturing facilities. His primary geographic area of specialization includes the San Fernando Valley, Valencia and Ventura County. In particular, his focus since the late 1980's has been in markets along the "I-5 Transportation Corridor", which extends south to Burbank and Glendale and north to Sylmar and beyond into the master planned industrial market in Valencia.
Jim left Cushman & Wakefield in 1995 to join Realty Advisory Group. His extensive experience in markets along the "I-5 Transportation Corridor" has included working with government agencies and the private sector in re-zoning land for industrial development. In addition to brokering sales and leases of existing industrial facilities, he has significant experience representing developers in land acquisitions, project design and ground-up development. The depth of his market knowledge has enabled Jim to represent clients in significant value-added and off-market transactions.
Jim also has knowledge of the significant state tax incentives available through the State Enterprise Zones in the Northeast San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita. His knowledge of these programs includes material changes to each of these Zones as a result of state budget amendments implemented during the 4th Quarter of 2008.
His client list includes Regent Aerospace Corporation, Avalon Investment Company, Adler Realty Investments, Weyerhaeuser, SYSCO Corporation, MetLife, the Los Angeles Times, Spelling Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. Jim is pro-active in his representation of clients whose perspective he understands as a broker and as a principal investor in commercial and industrial properties in Texas and Colorado.
Jim's office is located in the on-site marketing center for Discovery Gateway Spectrum II. This prestigious forty-five unit state-of-the-art business campus is the largest development of its kind ever built in Valencia or the San Fernando Valley.
Jim Ebanks holds a B.S. from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. from Concord Law School. He is a member of the AIR Commercial Real Estate organization in Los Angeles. Jim is married with two children and lives in Thousand Oaks, California.
